Solas is Seo Linn’s first studio album. The word ‘Solas‘ means ‘light’ in the Irish language, and is a reference to another light that we’ve been trying to shine on our beautiful language since the start of our musical journey.

The album is a collection of original songs written for various projects that Seo Linn undertook in the early days of the band’s career. From travelling in Uganda with Self Help Africa, performing as part of the 1916 Centenary concert with RTÉ, to writing the song for the Irish soccer team in the 2016 Euros Championship with the FAI, each song on this album is a direct result of some chapter in the band’s early history. The light is always on the Irish language in these songs, and the accompanying booklet gives a background description for each project.
